PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem on a conventional battery locomotive mainly used as a locomotive travelling through a construction tunnel that it becomes difficult for the battery locomotive having a limited travel distance to apply to the tunnel having a longer distance in these years. SOLUTION: The locomotive 8 to which power is supplied from a trolley line 13 or a battery 9 mounted on the locomotive 8 with DC conversion of a AC power source 11 reciprocatingly travels on a rail 19. The AC power source 11 is installed on a travel passage, a double track section 72 is provided on the way of a single track section 71 of the rail 19, and the trolley line 13 is installed at a branch position between the single track section 71 and the double track section 72. Furthermore, power is supplied from the trolley line 13 to the locomotive 8 at the branch position from the single track section 71, the battery 9 is charged, and power is supplied from the battery 9 in a section such as the double track section 72 and a shaft section 70 where no trolley line 13 exists.
