PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for processing photographic material for preventing the reduction of the residual ratio of processing fluid components and crystal precipitation to a processing tank rack, and to provide a processing agent and fine particles. SOLUTION: The device for processing the photographic material has the fine particles which are insoluble in the processing fluid and have a mean particle diameter in the range of 1 mm to 1×10-4mm in a processing tank storing a processing fluid for the photographic material. The method for processing the photographic material contains: the processing fluid, a concentrated fluid and/or a solid form processing agent for the photographic material containing the fine particles which have the mean particle diameter in the range of 1 mm to 1×10-4mm and are insoluble to the processing fluid; the fine particles which are used for the processing agent, have the mean particle diameter in the range of 1 mm to 1×10-4mm and are insoluble to the processing fluid; and the fine particles.
