PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propylene-base elastomer excellent in rigidity, heat resistance, scratch resistance, transparency, heat sealability, and blocking properties. SOLUTION: The propylene-base elastomer is characterized in that: (1) it comprises units derived from propylene in an amount of 50-95mol% and units derived from 1-butene in an amount of 5-50mol%; (2) when<SP>13</SP>C-NMR spectral measurement (hexachlorobutadiene solution, tetramethylsilane as the reference) is made on (i) a triad of head-to-tail-linked propylene units or (ii) a propylene-butene triad comprising head-to-tail-linked propylene unit(s) and butene unit(s) and containing a propylene unit in the second unit-made with respect to the side chain methyl group of the propylene unit in the second unit of the triad, the area of the peak which appears in 21.0-21.9ppm is 90% or more when the total area of the peaks which appear in 19.5-21.9 ppm is made to be 100%; (3) it has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.1-12dL/g measured in decalin at 135°C; and (4) it has a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3 or less determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC).
