PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oven cover which shields the radiation heat to an operator working outside the oven and, simultaneously, suppress the energy loss of the coke oven to a minimum by preventing cold air from entering the oven in inserting a diagnosing and repairing apparatus and an coke extruder into the oven. SOLUTION: The oven cover apparatus for a coke oven is an oven cover apparatus for installing a heat insulation oven cover 1 at the oven entrance 12 in inserting a structure into a carbonization chamber from the oven entrance of the coke oven, and a plurality of the heat insulation oven cover 1 are arranged in the height direction of the oven entrance, and each heat insulation oven cover 1 can be selected singly or simultaneously and installed at the oven entrance 12. The insulating oven cover 1 has a box-like plate frame 4, a heat insulation material 2 fitting within the box-like plate frame, and seals 3 at the parts which contact the oven entrance, and the seals 3 are constituted of an elastic heat insulation material, and furthermore in order to seal between the heat insulation oven cover and adjoining ones, the box-like plate frame 4 has elastically deformable plates 5 of curved shape at respective parts adjoining the above other heat insulation oven covers.
