A stringed instrument optical microphone / MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) sensor procedure has a printed circuit (5) with light sources (2) and receivers (3) for each string (6), electrical connections (4) and electronic control unit (7) and records the response of each string individually with individual adjustment of the light sources by bias variation sinusoidally or at set time intervals.
