<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the power consumption when expansion of encoded data of compressedly encoded images is executed. <P>SOLUTION: The battery residual amount of a battery 7 is detected by a power supply state detecting part 11. When the battery residual amount is less, a control unit 10 decreases the frame rate and reduces the resolution, or the codes of a code stream are selectively discarded at a code discard part 3 so as to reduce the display region of an image.
