摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging device in which system performance is enhanced by realizing a most advantageous state in view point of minimum quantity of light presupposing dimensional restriction on the working distance, conjugate length, or the like, and positional shift of a light source array or an image sensor from the center of a rod lens array in the thickness direction. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging device, an image reading light source array or image sensors are arranged while being shifted in the thickness direction from a rod lens array of such a structure as multiple graded-index rod lens elements 10 are arranged in a plurality of rows. Assuming the degree of superposition of the images of the rod lens array is m (=X<SB>0</SB>/D, where X<SB>0</SB>: radius of a visual field formed by the rod lens elements, D: diameter of rod lens element), the rod lens array has a smallest number of rows where minimum quantity of liquid increases for the maximum shift from the central position of the light source or the image sensor and for the value of m in the range of 0.6-3.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
