PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning control device which positions a moving member without using a component for detecting the moving member position other than a motor driving unit, concerning a device for positioning the moving member such as a positioning table in a machine tool or the like. SOLUTION: This positioning control device includes: a gear mechanism including a turning gear for positioning the moving member; a brushless motor for driving the turning gear; and a motor control circuit for supplying a driving pulse successively to a plurality of fixed coils of the brushless motor to rotate the brushless motor. In the device, the motor control circuit is constituted of a stage number detection means for detecting the present stage number of a rotor of the brushless motor corresponding to an output signal from a magnetism sensitive element of the brushless motor, and a driving pulse generation means for converting a desired position of the moving member to a target stage number, and generating the driving pulse for rotating the brushless motor until the number agrees with the present stage number.
