PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine that a pointer 20 has returned to a lower limit value in a vehicle speedometer. SOLUTION: The vehicle speedometer comprises an output coil 604 for outputting detection magnetic flux to the side of an output gear 410; a detection coil 603 for outputting a detection signal based on the detection magnetic flux that is inputted from the side of the output gear 410; and a magnetic body piece 601 that is arranged at the output gear 410 and forms a magnetic path for inputting the detection magnetic flux from the output coil 602 to the detection coil 603 when the pointer 20 returns to the lower limit value of a vehicle speed in a scale. A microcomputer 700A judges whether the pointer 20 has returned to the lower limit value or not based on output from the detection coil 603. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
