PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator capable of mounting a shaft stopper to regulate movement of a screw shaft in the axial direction on a casing in simple structure and with sufficient strength. SOLUTION: A nut 16 moves along an axis as the screw shaft 14 rotates around the axis by a geared motor 22 on the linear actuator 10. Though the screw shaft 14 tends to move in the arrow B direction by its own rotation when movement to the arrow A direction is regulated as the nut 16 makes contact with a bush 42 fixed on the screw shaft 14, this movement is avoided as the bush 42 is engaged with a collar 38. The collar 38 is held and firmly fixed between a case main body 24 into which one end part of the screw shaft 14 enters and a shaft cover pipe 28 to cover the screw shaft 14 and the nut 16 from outside.
