PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic which has good coatability (good spreadability) on both wet hair and dry hair, is little sticky, gives a gloss and a flexible touch to hair, improves hair combability and hair collectability, has an excellent hair-protecting effect, and can easily be washed out, when adhered to the skin of a hand or the like. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic is characterized by comprising (A) a thickening polymer comprising a monomer represented by the general formula (1) [R<SP>1</SP>is a 10 to 30C alkyl; R<SP>2</SP>is a group selected from H, methyl or COOH; (n) is an integer of 1 to 50] and acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid.
