PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for crushing which has excellent crushing power even by small heat source and by which crushing sound is suppressed. SOLUTION: The composition for crushing is composed of an oxidizing agent consisting of metal oxide, a reducing agent consisting of powdery metal and a gas producing agent consisting of plastic powder, and a rock, a concrete structure or the like is crushed by combusting the gas producing agent by the heat of reaction of the oxidizing agent with the reducing agent which are the heat source to produce a high pressure gas. Also the composition for crushing is composed of the oxidizing agent consisting of metal oxide, the reducing agent consisting of powdery metal and the gas producing agent which contains the plastic powder as a principal ingredient and in which a hydrate is added, and the rock, the concrete structure or the like is crushed by combusting the gas producing agent by the heat of reaction of the oxidizing agent with the reducing agent which are the heat source to produce a high pressure gas.
