PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a dehumidifying performance by performing dehumidification inside a wide space in a water tub without constituting a heat exchanger and to eliminate clogging due to winding up of cooling water by an air pressure and deposition of lint or the like in a drum type washing and drying machine for successively performing the respective processes of washing, rinsing, spin-drying and drying, etc., inside a rotary drum. SOLUTION: The rotary drum 6 having a rotary axis in an almost horizontal direction or an almost inclined direction is included in the water tub 4, water is supplied into the water tub 4 by a water supply valve 9 for washing or a water supply valve 10 for drying and the water inside the water tub 4 is discharged by a water discharge pump 12. Air is blown into the water tub 4 by a blower 15 communicating with a heater 16 and moisture evaporated from laundry inside the water tub 4 is dehumidified by the cooling water by a dehumidifying means. The dehumidifying means is constituted so as to cool air between the water tub 4 and the rotary drum 6 by the cooling water and dehumidifies it. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
