CULTURE SOIL FOR SEEDLING RAISING AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation effort required when seedlings are raised so as to correspond to aging in agricultural field and improve compatibility to transplanting machines such as a rice transplanter and reduce cost of transportation, storage, etc. SOLUTION: The culture soil for seedling raising is produced by preparing a culture soil material in which a fiber component such as coconut peat or peat-moss in an amount of 50-70 vol.% is mixed with soil and extruding the culture soil material by a prescribed pressure and cutting the extruded culture soil material so as to provide pellet-like culture soil having≤5 mm diameter and 0.8-0.4 specific gravity.
