The method includes the steps of determining of a required power different from a nominal power and effecting the regulating of a feed parameter of the laser emitter in a manner to obtain the required power. The method also includes determining a correspondence between the feed parameter values and the values corresponding to the power of the light beam emitted and using this correspondence during the adjusting of the emitter.
