摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a laser optical system, which method can recognize the optimum optical system by utilizing the high-velocity deflection of an electron beam and can therefore end an optimization design in a short period at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The electron beam B emitted from an electron gun 1 is focused by a focusing arrangement and thereafter the electron beam B is deflected at a high velocity by changing the current supplied from a current control circuit 7 to deflection coils 5 and 6. Beam patterns P having desired energy density distributions and sizes are spuriously formed on the surfaces of two-ply galvanized steel sheets W1 and W2 and are subjected to a processing test. The laser optical system is designed and fabricated in accordance with the results of the processing test. The deflection of the energy density distributions and sizes in the beam patterns P of the electron beam B can be coped with by merely changing the processing program within an electron beam system and therefore the need for repeating the design and fabrication of the laser optical system is eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
