PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a high quality image by suppressing occurrence of streaks or unevenness due to effect of air flow. SOLUTION: When recording data is generated by an inkjet recorder performing multipass recording using an inkjet recording head provided with an opening for ejecting an ink drop of large volume and an opening for ejecting an ink drop of small volume and having a first mode performing high speed recording and a second mode performing high image quality recording, a user selects the first mode or the second mode for recording a specified recording data. When image data is converted into the recording data, the number of ink drops of small volume being used for recording a high density or chroma area of a specified color in the first mode (a) is set smaller than the number of ink drops of small volume being used for recording that area in the second mode (b).
