PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system for checking whether a fuel assembly of a nuclear reactor is charged in a correct position by photographing the image of an identification marking of the assembly, by which system imaging time and labor are greatly reduced as compared with a case using a conventional system and a clearer image can be obtained. SOLUTION: A forest of the fuel assemblies 1 arrayed adjacently are disposed underwater W in a state each exposing the identification marking M of a fuel number or the like, and an image of the fuel assemblies is photographed. The camera system for this purpose comprises a camera 10 with a high resolution, capable of being disposed not underwater W but aerially A and picking up the image of a plurality of the markings in one shot and a water glass, freely disposed at a position capable of photographing the image via a light transmissive matter 11b, such as a glass plate disposed on a water face WF of underwater W.
