PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a decorative plate from which contaminants adherent to its surface can be removed easily. SOLUTION: In the wipable decorative plate using surface paper, decorative paper, and a substrate, after the surface paper is impregnated with a thermosetting resin and the resin is dried, resin-impregnated coated surface surface paper coated with a water-repelling agent, resin-impregnated decorative paper, and the substrate are laminated on the surface of the surface paper impregnated with the thermosetting resin. The laminate is hot-pressed, and the amount of the water repelling agent adherent to the decorative surface is increased to improve the wipability of the decorative plate. An amino-modified silicone oil, especially having the equivalent of a functional group of 500-2,000 and a molecular weight of 10,000-50,000, is used as the water-repelling agent. The amount of the water-repelling agent to be applied is adjusted corresponding to the finish of the decorative surface, for example, in the case of flat finishing, the amount is 0.005-0.05 g/m<SP>2</SP>, and in the case of embossing finishing, the amount is 0.01-0.1 g/m<SP>2</SP>.
