摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the response properties of the automatic restart of an engine by considering the operation of a preceding vehicle and the excitation time of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: When a brake fluid pressure equivalent to a damping request value becomes smaller (S9) than an excitation threshold Pmc_stml during idle stop (S1), an induction motor starts to be excited (S10). On the other hand, when the brake fluid pressure is smaller than a start threshold Pmc_strt and excitation is completed (S8, S12), the engine is driven by the induction motor and the engine is automatically restarted (S13).
