<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector for an optical fiber code of small size by which connection and separation of fellow optical connectors made via an adapter can be surely and easily performed. <P>SOLUTION: In housing of the optical connector, a ferrule is provided at its tip side, an optical fiber is extended from a rear end of the optical connector, a stopper of the optical connector prevents the ferrule from escaping from the housing, a protective boot partially surrounding the optical fiber and having flexibility extends from a rear end of the housing while its tip section is engaged with the stopper. Further a slider which surrounds an outer peripheral surface of the housing and operates connection and separation between the optical connector and a member to be engaged with by being biased by an elastic means, has a gripping part which extends from the both side parts towards a rear end of the housing and is located outside in a radial direction of the protective boot. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
