<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detecting device capable of detection processing of high sensibility by limiting a measurement point at a points of high radio field intensity in measurement for obstacle detection. <P>SOLUTION: Leakage coaxial cables 1, 2 are laid along a road or a track, signal carried out spectrum spreading is radiated from one side of the leakage coaxial cable 1 and enters in another leakage coaxial cable 2. The signal is passed through a correlator 6, a digital filter 7 to provide radio field intensity at every fixed distances, and the obstacle is detected by change of radio field strength. When all points in each fixed distance are set as subjects of measurement, since correlator for collating measuring points increase, a computing unit 8 as a means to limit measurement point is provided to substantially reduce the number of correlator. A method for selecting points where detection accuracy increases due to obstacle and points of high radio field intensity is provided as method for limiting measurement method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
