PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-magnetic one-component developing method wherein developer is prevented from firmly sticking on the developing roller surface, stable electrification can be obtained without being affected by the environmental change, and satisfactory developing characteristics having satisfactory image density and free from surface stain can be obtained, as for a non-contact type non-magnetic one-component developing method. SOLUTION: Provided that the electrified quantity of the non-magnetic one-component developer 17 on the surface of the developing roller 12 is expressed by A and the quantity of sticking developer is expressed by B, a relation A/B is controlled to be -3.0×10<SP>3</SP>to -15×10<SP>3</SP>(μC×cm<SP>2</SP>/g<SP>2</SP>) under the whole environment at 10°C to 30°C and 15%RH to 90%RH including a low-temperature and low-humidity environment at 10°C and 15%RH, a normal temperature and normal humidity environment at 23°C and 65%RH and a high-temperature and high-humidity environment at 30°C and 90%RH.
