PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system provided with a high-definition two-dimensional image forming and storing function. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 2 specifies a desirable image among pictures of a displayed three-dimensional animation image screen 31 (step 401). The image forming apparatus 2 forms an accurate two-dimensional static image from the specified image, and displays a two-dimensional static image screen 32 (step 402), and specifies an output medium for the formed two-dimensional static image (step 403). When "wallpaper" is selected, the image forming apparatus 2 stores the two-dimensional static image in an external memory device 3 to form the wallpaper. When "poster" is selected, the image forming apparatus 2 transmits the output medium information specified by a user and 3DCG (three dimensional computer graphics) data to an image forming server 7, and the image forming server 7 forms a more high-definition two-dimensional image for printing on the basis of the received 3DCG data.
