PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a person usually unfamiliar with a computer to use a fine ink jet digital printer for postcard printing such as a New Year's card, a card of midsummer greeting and a Christmas card by using a method for combining cutout patterns and cutout character strings. SOLUTION: A postcard preparing machine is obtained by combing by a cable and radio an image reader provided with an original mounting window as large as a postcard of a New Year's card, a card of midsummer greeting, a Christmas, etc., and an image sensor for reading an image displayed in the original mounting window with an image printer for processing an image signal from the image sensor and operating the fine ink jet digital color printing means.
