PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately, stably and quickly perform the material test under high pressure atmosphere of a hydrogen gas and the like with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A piston 2 is mounted on a pressure container 1 for material test in a state of being advanced and retracted. A pressure medium from accumulators 16, 19 of which the pressure is adjusted by pressure-regulating valves 18, 21 is supplied to a first pressure chamber 3 and a second pressure chamber 4 composed of the piston 2 and the pressure container 1 to achieve high pressure atmosphere. A specimen 5 is attached to the first pressure chamber 3, and the load is measured by a load meter 9 under high pressure atmosphere. Further the frictional resistance of a pressure seal 23 mounted on the piston 2 is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
