PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which makes hard the occurrence of dielectric breakdown of a reflecting film of a dielectric substance, which forms an electro-optic element to be used for an electric field distribution detector, in the electric field distribution detector which detects as a two-dimensional distribution of light, an electric field generated, when an AC voltage is applied to a circuit board. SOLUTION: This detector is so configured that the electro-optic element is irradiated with a light of wavelength at which BSO crystals used for the electro-opric element do not display photoelectric effect. To obtain the light of the wavelength, at which the BSO crystals do not display the photoelectric effect, either a light from light from a light source is irradiated, via a wavelength filter or a light source which emits only the light of a wavelength, at which the BSO crystal do not display the photoelectric effect, is used.
