PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor post that supports the load of a frame irrespective of changes in distance between the frame and the ground. SOLUTION: A pin 11 is placed in the position of 11" to fix a frame supporting part 7 in a lowered position. The floor post is placed in a predetermined position under the floor. A main spindle 5 is rotated relative to a main spindle supporting part 3 and is thereby raised by the use of their engagement. With the intervening piece 8 of the frame supporting part 7 abutting against the frame of the house, the pin 11 is placed at the vertical part of a pin sliding opening to cancel a fixed condition. Thereafter, even if the ground and the frame move apart because of ground subsidence or the like, the frame supporting part 7 makes contact with the frame at all times because of the resilient force of an inner coil spring 6 to support the frame.
