PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition which is excellent in flame retardancy and impact resistance and which gives a molded article excellent in surface appearance. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition consists of (A)5-98 wt.% of a rubber-modified styrene resin comprising a graft polymer made from 3-40 wt.% of a rubbery polymer (a) and 60-97 wt.% of vinyl monomer(s) (b) comprising an aromatic vinyl compound and, if desired, a vinyl cyanide compound, (B) 1-74 wt.% of a modified styrene resin made from vinyl monomer(s) comprising an aromatic vinyl compound and, if desired, a vinyl cyanide compound, and a vinyl monomer selected from a hydroxylated unsaturated compound, a carboxylated unsaturated compound, an unsaturated compound containing an acid anhydride group, an unsaturated compound containing an epoxy group, and an unsaturated compound containing an oxazoline group, and (C) 1-21 wt.% of a polyorganosiloxane, with the total of the components (A), (B) and (C) being 100 wt.%.
