PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-wash sitting position holding mat with excellent water permeability and air permeability without making discharged liquid pass through. SOLUTION: The mat is mainly used for a physically handicapped person or an aged person to sit on, a spring structure 2 having rubber elasticity with the excellent water permeability and air permeability is provided on a lower spread sheet 1 with excellent waterproofness, a surface cover 3 with the excellent water permeability and air permeability is provided on it further, and a nonskid structure 1a is formed on the lower surface of the lower spread sheet 1. Liquid smoothly passes through the surface cover 3 and the spring structure 2 and stops on the lower spread sheet 1 and the surface cover 3 and the spring structure 2 dry in a short time. Thus, a tatami mat or a chair positioned under the sitting position holding mat is not stained or damaged and the stains of clothes currently worn are minimized as well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
