PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lost circulation preventing material affording the lost circulation preventing material having excellent dispersibility at a low cost by using a mixture of a fiber material such as pulp fibers with a highly water absorbing synthetic resin material and further the lost circulation preventing material effectively preventing the leakage of a material subjected to lost circulation such as muddy water, cement milk or mortar and useful as a stabilizer, a mud additive/a super mud material or a lubricant when construction of various kinds of civil engineering works is carried out by using the mixture and to provide a method for construction using the lost circulation preventing material. SOLUTION: The lost circulation preventing material preventing the leakage of a material subjected to the lost circulation such as the muddy water, cement milk or mortar is produced by mixing the fiber material such as pulp fibers with the highly water absorbing synthetic resin material.
