BALANCED-TO-IMBALANCED CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress frequency dispersion caused by dielectric substrate thickness and characteristic deterioration caused by surrounding structures. SOLUTION: In this balanced-to-imbalanced converter, wavelengthλfrom a coplanar line 3 to a coplanar strip line 8 on a dielectric substrate 6 is defined as a central wavelength. As shown in Figure (a), one of two slots constituting the coplanar line 3 is connected to a coplanar strip line 11 short-circuited withλ/4 length, and the other slot is connected to the coplanar strip line 8 for obtaining a balanced output.
