PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric sensor that displays information effective to analyze a threshold set state or the like on an indicator even under a situation in which the photoelectric sensor operates while a light entering state and a non-light entering state are alternately repeated. SOLUTION: This photoelectric sensor has a light projecting means having a light emitting element for emitting light to be projected to a detection area, a light receiving means for receiving reflected light or transmitting light which comes through the detection area after being projected from the light projecting means and outputting a value equivalent to received light quantity, a determining means for determining whether to be a light entering state or a non-light entering state by comparing the value equivalent to the received light quantity obtained from the light receiving means with a prescribed threshold, an outputting means for performing an output operation corresponding to a determination result of the determining means, and a displaying means for displaying a display value corresponding to a value equivalent to received light quantity in a period determined to be in a light entering state and/or a display value corresponding to a value equivalent to received light quantity in a period determined to be in a non-light entering state on a prescribed indicator for each different period.
