PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a pipe joint capable of preventing a locking member for connecting a hose end rotatably to a socket body, from slipping out of the socket body. SOLUTION: In this socket 1 for the pipe joint, a flow hole 5 is formed inside the front side of the socket body 3, in the direction of an axis A, and a connecting hole 25 is formed in the rear part of the socket body 3, in the direction of an axis B intersecting the axis A. A base part 4a of the hose end 4 provided with an annular groove 27 on the outer periphery is fitted into the connecting hole 25, and a locking hole 28 passing through a part of the annular groove 27 of the hose end 4 to pierce in a tangential direction is formed in the rear part of the socket body 3. A locking member 29 is passed through the locking hole 28 and fitted to the annular groove 27, and the hose end 4 is locked in a rotatable manner by the locking member 29. An end cover 31 having a blocking part 31a for closing opening parts on both sides of the locking hole 28 to impede the slip-out of the locking member 29 is mounted to the rear part of the socket body 3 by a fall preventing means 32 so as not to fall off the socket body 3.
