PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphingoglycolipid Gb3 sugar chain derivative highly effective for realizing detoxifying agents or detective agents for verotoxin, and to provide a method for producing the sphingoglycolipid Gb3 sugar chain derivative for quickly securing necessary amounts thereof which has been difficult so far. SOLUTION: The sphingoglycolipid Gb3 sugar chain derivative is represented by general formula[I] (wherein, n is an integer of 1-3; and Bn is a benzyl group ). The method for producing the sphingoglycolipid Gb3 sugar chain derivative includes using a highly fluorinated carboxylic acid as a protective reagent and carrying out liquid-liquid partition extraction operations using a perfluorocarbon and an organic solvent in multistage production process for purification. By this method, the objective sphingoglycolipid Gb3 sugar chain derivative is obtained easily and quickly for quickly securing necessary amounts thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
