PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspended matter recovering apparatus which is installed in a water way etc. of sewage, performs the recovery of suspended matter such as scum and, thereby, reduces the occurrence of the suspended matter in a sedimentation basin etc. SOLUTION: A weir member 10 which is held by a holding part 21 of the waterway 20 so as to be movable vertically and is a long-length casing having rectangular cross-section is disposed. The weir member 10 allows one part thereof to float to the upper side than the water surface and intercept the stream on the water surface of the waterway 20. The suspended matter which flows through the waterway 20, floats on the water surface 22a and is included in water is dammed by a damming member 10 and, thereby, the suspended matter is recovered.
