<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely mount a process cartridge on the main body of an apparatus while preventing impact on an exposure means, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the process cartridge which has an image carrier and a process means that acts on the image carrier and which is attachable/detachable to/from the main body of the image forming apparatus; and an exposure unit having the exposure means which exposes the image carrier. In the image forming apparatus, the case main body of the process cartridge is provided with a recess part and the exposure unit has a projection part that engages with the recess.
