PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load control device capable of realizing stable load control by preventing erroneous operation of a load due to small current passing through a snubber circuit at the inoperative time of the load. SOLUTION: This load control device includes the load and a power control element connected with an AC power supply in series, and the snubber circuit connected to the power control element in parallel. A restraint means is provided to restrain current passing through the snubber circuit at the inoperative time of the load. A switch for cutting off current passing through the snubber circuit at the inoperative time of the load is provided in series to the snubber circuit.
