PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polysilsesquioxane fine particles which excels in handling properties, reduces the environmental load, and has a controlled particle diameter with good precision. SOLUTION: The method for producing spherical polysilsesquioxane fine particles comprises a step A of hydrolyzing two or more kinds of trihalosilanes separately or together in water with the use of each solution of the two or more kinds of trihalosilanes dissolved in an organic solvent separately or a mixed solution of them dissolved in the organic solvent together and a step B of performing emulsion polycondensation with the use of an aqueous solution containing two or more kinds of silanetriols obtained by the above hydrolysis step, and as the trihalosilanes, a combination of an aromatic hydrocarbon group-substituted trihalosilane and an aliphatic hydrocarbon group-substituted trihalosilane is preferred.
