The invention relates to a body structure of a vehicle body (vehicle body structure 1) which is composed of several hollow profiles (3, 4, 5), whereby a through-opening (6) is recessed in a substantially closed hollow profiled area of the body structure, said through-opening reducing the rigidity thereof. In order to produce a lightweight body structure, a reinforcement piece (reinforcement shell 8) is provided for at least partially compensating the decrease in strength, said reinforcement piece spanning the through-opening (6) in a built-in position and being secured to the edge (7) of the through-opening (6). |
