This invention relates to novel proteins, termed INTP026, INTP027 and INTP028, herein identified as RFamide-related peptide precursor proteins and to the use of these proteins and nucleic acid sequences from the encoding genes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease. This invention also relates to the RFamide-related peptides generated by cleavage of the INTP026, INTP027 and INTP028 RFamide-related peptide precursor proteins.
