PURPOSE: A method for managing non-use phone number during a specific period in a mobile communication terminal is provided to allow a user to effectively store and manage multiple phone numbers through a phone book by informing the user of a phone number which has not been used until a non-use acknowledge term elapses. CONSTITUTION: Phone number storage information is received from a user and stored in a phone book(S11). A controller of a terminal discriminates whether a user sets a phone number non-use acknowledge function for the stored phone number(S12). If the phone number non-use acknowledge function is selected, the controller receives the phone number non-use acknowledge function from the user and registers it together with the phone number in a schedule management mode(S13). The controller discriminates whether a counted term exceeds the non-use acknowledge term(S14). If the non-use acknowledge term has elapsed, the controller informs the user of lapse of the non-use acknowledge term(S15). The controller receives information on whether to delete the phone number from the user and discriminates whether to select deletion of the phone number by the user(S16). If the user selects a delete button, the controller deletes the phone number from the phone book(S17). If the user does not select the deletion button, the controller maintains the phone number stored in the phone book(S18).
