PURPOSE: A water purification apparatus is provided. The apparatus has a selenium filter which filters germs such as virus, bacteria and mold, and inhibits proliferation of such germs by sterilization effect, and this apparatus can remove color. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a first step purification unit (10) with a pretreatment filter (11) made of nonwoven fabric for a large size of pollutant such as suspended solids and metal pieces, a second step purification unit (20) with at least one selenium filter (21,22,23,24) with a pore size in the range of 0.005 to 30 μm for filtering and sterilizing germs, and a third step purification unit (30) with activated carbon (31) for removing color or specified ions, wherein the pretreatment filter (11) has a pore size no less than 10 μm.
