PURPOSE: A traffic signal apparatus having a remaining time display function is provided to achieve smooth traffic condition and to prevent traffic accidents in advance by the function. CONSTITUTION: A display part(110) has a signal lamp display part(111) displaying turn-on of a signal lamp and a remaining time display part(112) displaying a remaining time by Arabic numerals. A power supply part(130) supplies power. A driving part(120) has a signal lamp driving part(121) driving to supply power of the power supply part to the signal lamp display part to display the turn-on of the signal lamp, and a remaining time display driving part(122) driving to supply the power of the power supply part to the remaining time display part to display the remaining time of the signal lamp. A signal lamp turn-on detection part(170) detects whether the turn-on signal lamp is turned on. A sensing part(150) senses the surrounding traffic condition. A timer(140) generates a timing signal to count turn-on time of the signal lamp. And a control part(160) calculates the remaining time of the signal lamp, and controls the driving part according to the sensing result of the sensing part.
