3,4-Bis-dialkylamino-pyridines are new. 3,4-Diaminopyridines of formula (I) are new. R1, R2 = 1-6C alkyl, or the two groups plus the linking nitrogen may form an optionally unsaturated aliphatic or an aromatic 5- or 6-membered ring (optionally substituted and/or condensed with other rings); R3, R4 = as for R2/R2. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the production of (I) by reacting 3-bromo-4-dialkylaminopyridines with sec. aliphatic amines in inert solvent at 25-130 degreesC in presence of a palladium complex, a phosphorus-containing ligand and a base.
