The drum brake has a support block (10) for the brake shoes (4) which is trapezoidal and has a short inner face towards the wheel hub and a long outer face towards the wheel. Two opposing support faces (18,19) which are arranged at an angle to each other support the brake shoes. These support faces form an angle where their imaginary extensions form an intersection (20) in the middle of the wheel hub. Independent claim describes method for manufacturing drum brake where one assembly unit is produced where the two brake shoes are arranged opposite one another so that the end faces (8,9) of the brake lining supports (5) are opposite one another and an expanding lock (7) is inserted in the notches as a connection between the two shoes. A tension spring fits between the two lining supports to span the assembly unit.
