A two element heating system having a high initial heating rate for a bath or oven comprises a low wattage element 4 controlled by a temperature sensitive device 3 sufficient to normally maintain the temperature, and an arrangement of any type such as a bi-metallic switch 5, 6 having a time delay longer than the normal closed time of the device 3, which prevents through a relay 7, 8 the energization of a high wattage element 9 except at low temperatures. The low wattage element 4 may be rated at about twice the steady state cooling rate and be one-tenth of the element 9 rating.</p> |
