A plastic waste water sorting unit, comprises detection stations with sensors for material, shape and colour, and ejection system (7) with controllable compressed air nozzles or mechanical elements. The waste is separated into sorted fraction (I) and residual fraction (II). (I) is transported through detection station (2). At least two ejection stations are located after detection station, and each creates new material stream. The fractions are moved along separate transport lines (12), and pass through further detection stations and their associated ejection stations. Usable material is removed from (II) and collected in containers (9). A second ejection system (14) is located after the detection station at the second sorting stage.
