<p>PURPOSE: An operation method for improving forming property of DC electric furnace is provided to prevent arc scattering, reduce energy through prevention of radiant heat and reduce injection quantity of quicklime by recharging waste molten slag into the DC electric furnace during first melting operation, thereby improving forming property of slag. CONSTITUTION: In operating hot metal using a DC electric furnace comprising an electrode rod that is the cathode and a lower electrode that is the anode, the operation method for improving forming property of the DC electric furnace comprises the steps of performing first melting operation by charging 45 to 70 wt.% of scrap, 1 to 2 wt.% of quicklime and 4 to 5 wt.% of waste molten slag into the DC electric furnace containing 5 to 15 wt.% of residual molten metal after completing tapping; performing second melting operation by charging 15 to 30 wt.% of hot metal into the first melting completed DC electric furnace; and refining the second melted materials contained in the DC electric furnace, wherein the waste molten slag comprises 30 to 40 wt.% of CaO, 10 to 25 wt.% of SiO2, 20 to 35 wt.% of iron oxide and a balance of MgO, TiO, MnO and P2O5, wherein the quicklime and waste molten slag are charged into the DC electric furnace during the first melting operation.</p> |
