INK SET, METHOD OF FORMING IMAGE AND WATER BASE INK FOR USE THEREIN

An ink/liquid composition set, comprising a water base ink containing a color material and a water base liquid composition containing a first component capable of insolubilizing or agglomerating the color material of the water base ink when mixed with the water base ink, wherein either one of the water base ink and the water base liquid composition contains a water-soluble polymeric compound in dissolved form while the other contains a second component in dissolved form which is not insolubilized by the first component and the color material and wherein the water-soluble polymeric compound is not insolubilized by the first component and the color material but insolubilized by the second component. By virtue of the ink set, image formation having realized substantially uniform antiscratching properties can be effected. Image blur can be avoided even at both-side recording. High-quality images improved with respect to unclearness at image outline portions and being free from color bleed can be obtained.
